Playa de Las Vistas (Arona)

Playa de las Vistas is one of the largest and most popular beaches located between Los Cristianos and Playa de Las Américas  in Southern Tenerife. The fine golden sands stretch for about 700 metres are divided into two bays.

There are a whole host of water based activities on offer including, Jet-skis, parasailing, paddle boards and banana boats. The less active will have no problem finding a sun lounger and parasols.

The conditions are ideal for swimming and for paddling, the wave-breakers mean that only small waves reach the bay and this makes Playa de las Vistas very popular with families.

You will find a good range of restaurants, bars and shops on the promenade area behind the beach.

Playa de las Vistas also has superb facilities including showers, toilets, massage tents, lockers for your valuables and lifeguards on duty

Playa Del Duque

Playa Del Duque is located in the chic beach resort of Costa Adeje in south-west Tenerife

Its soft golden sands, crystal clear waters and superb facilities have afforded the Playa Del Duque the prestigious Blue Flag mark of quality. There are all the facilities you would expect at a high end beach resort including showers, changing areas, sun-loungers, straw parasols, a beach bar and plenty of parking spots.

Along the promenade that runs the full length of Playa Del Duque are a collection of stylish restaurants and cafés serving everything from traditional tapas dishes to high end a la carte cuisine. Visitors can also enjoy a selection of designer boutiques.

Playa La Arena

La Arena is the main beach at Puerto Santiago, a small tourist resort on the west coast of the island. Holder of the prestigious Blue Flag award the beach is located in a sheltered bay and has beautiful clear waters and pristine black sand.

Palm trees line the rear of the beach and wooden pathways lead over the sands to the edge of the ocean

Playa de la Arena has been voted one of Europe‘s cleanest and safest beaches, the ocean here is very calm and there are lifeguards on duty making it a great choice for families.

There is a choice of three small restaurants, including a great tapas bar right on the sand . Toilets and showers can be found at several locations and there is even free Wi-Fi available on the beach.

Playa del Camison

Playa del Camison is a small crescent shaped beach with golden sands located in the heart of Playa de las Americas.

Two large breakwaters protect the beach from large waves and currents making the swimming conditions some of the best in Tenerife

There are numerous water sports opportunities including pedal boat and paddleboard rentals

The palm tree lined promenade is home to several bars and restaurants serving traditional Canarian fare and tapas and there is a popular beach club at the far end of the beach

There are toilet facilities and a place to hire sun-loungers and parasols

Las Teresitas

Playa de las Teresitas is situated on the northern coast of Tenerife approximately 10 minutes by car from the islands capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This is a large manmade palm tree lined beach with golden sands imported from the Sahara.  There are plenty of car parking spaces nearby and a range of water sports on offer including pedal boats and kayaks.

San Andrés, a former fishing village backs on to the beach and has a range of superb fish restaurants and several beach bars.



Playa de Abama

Playa Abama is located in the South West coast of Tenerife in the district of Guia de Isora near San Juan. This beautiful golden sand beach is located in a sheltered bay surrounded by enormous cliffs. The Ritz-Carlton Abama Resort overlooks the Playa de Abama and is the hotels beach but it is open to anyone to enjoy.

Finding a parking space here can be a little tricky and it is about a 15-minute walk down to the beach but the views are spectacular along the way. Alternatively there is a funicular railway which takes you down to the beach and also golf buggies for hotel guests.

The beach is very clean and the waters are crystal clear and protected from the wind by the surrounding cliffs. The swimming here is very safe, the rocky wave breakers ensure the waters are calm and shallow and there are lifeguards on duty.

Sun-loungers are available to rent on the beach (free for hotel guests) and there is a restaurant which belongs to the Ritz Carlton Beach Resort.

La Tejita Beach

Playa de la Teijita is one of the largest natural beaches on Tenerife. It is located about a 30 minute walk from the kitesurfing resort of El Médano in Southern Tenerife. The Montaña Roja (Red Mountain) provides a spectacular feature at one end of the beach.

The beach is quite isolated and there are no shops, restaurants or cafes nearby but there are car parks and places to hire sunbeds and umbrellas at both ends of the beach. There is a naturist section by the cove under the Red Mountain but the rest of the beach is non-naturist. The beach is quite open so can get windy, making the choppy waves unsuitable for small children.

Playa Jardin

Playa Jardin is a picturesque beach which has been developed and landscaped with colourful botanical gardens and palm trees by local artist Cesar Manrique.

Playa Jardin is situated on the edge of Puerto de la Cruz and consists of one small and two large bays separated by rocky outcrops.

The beach is formed from soft volcanic sands and there are cascading waterfalls and pools around the promenade area and the beach.

There are lifeguards on duty to make sure that swimming and surfing is safe. Sun-loungers can be rented and on the promenade there are several restaurants which cater for all tastes.

Playa El Medano

El Médano is a traditional Canarian seaside resort with a Bohemian feel nestled on the south coast of Tenerife. The long stretch of golden sand and spectacular waves makes the area a mecca for water sports enthusiasts and it hosts the World Kite Surfing Championships every year

Surfers use one end of the beach while most of the swimming and sunbathing goes on at the far side, where wave breakers make for calmer waters where children can play safely. There are plenty of sun-loungers and parasols plus showers, changing facilities and plenty of parking spaces. Playa El Medano has also been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag award.

The promenade which borders the beach has a good range of shops, restaurants, bars and cafés. There are also several places to hire water sport equipment and wetsuits.

Playa El Bollullo

Playa El Bollullo is a natural black sand beach surrounded by cliffs 4 km’s east of Puerto de la Cruz in northern Tenerife.

The beach is quite secluded but there is a small beach café serving tapas dishes and a restaurant on the cliffs that back onto the beach. The waves here can be quite large and the waters are only suitable for strong swimmers

It can be reached by car or a half hour walk along the coastal path from Puerto de la Cruz.
