Costa Adeje is a sophisticated resort which has seen a large amount of investment in recent years. It has more than its fair share of luxury hotels and apartments not to mention designer shops and superb restaurants. Furthermore there are activities for all ages from water sports and water parks to dolphin cruises.
The Costa Adeje coastline offers a choice of beaches. Playa Paraiso has recently been renovated and has beautiful golden sands. There are two Blue Flag beaches. Playa Fanabe has dark sands and calm waters which are ideal for families. Playa del Duque has 500 meters of white sands imported from the Sahara, palm leaf parasols and colourful changing cabins. Manmade breakers see off the Atlantic waves. The whole beach is lined by a stylish promenade packed with cafés and restaurants serving everything from ice-cream to 3-course meals. For watersports lovers there is sailing, windsurfing, jet skiing and surfing.
Shops, restaurants and bars
The promenade area has a great range of bars, restaurants, cafes and shops. Plaza del Duque Mall is noted for its designers names, boutiques as well as duty free shopping. Fanabe hosts a popular street market on Thursdays and Saturdays. Playa del Duque is known for its fresh-from-the-ocean seafood and superb ocean views.
Things to Do
Whale and dolphin watching are popular and there are several cruises locally. Water sports are popular on this stretch of coastline, there are opportunities to learn to surf, kitesurf and a number of local PADI diving centres. For golf lovers, Costa Adeje is a superb championship 27-hole course close to the fishing village of La Caleta.
