Located on Tenerife’s southwest coast, Los Cristianos is quieter than its neighbour Playa de Las Americas. It has beautiful sandy beaches and a great selection of restaurants, bars and shops. Our Los Cristianos hotels are ideal for a relaxing family holiday.
Beaches
The main beach at Los Cristianos has a wide stretch of golden sand and is sheltered by the harbour. There are plenty of sun loungers and parasols available and a choice of water sports.
On the other side of the harbour you have the wide sandy beach of Playa de la Vistas. The conditions here are ideal for swimming and for paddling. The wave-breakers ensure that only smallest waves reach the bay and this makes the beach very popular with families.
You will find a good range of restaurants, bars and shops on the promenade area behind both beaches.
Shops, Restaurants and Bars
Los Cristianos has dining options to suit all tastes including some great seafood restaurants serving fresh fish from the harbour as well as many international restaurants
In the San Telmo district you will find quaint pavement cafes and chic bars. Towards Playa de las Americas the Safari Centre is a modern entertainment complex with top end restaurants, stylish bars and designer shops including Armani and Hugo Boss.
Things to Do
Popular dolphin and whale watching excursions run from the harbour, as well as sports fishing trips and ferries to neighbouring islands.
Stroll south along the promenade and you will soon arrive at the protected natural area of Montana de Guaza. Heading north you can walk along the promenade behind the harbour and Las Vistas beach, through Playa de Las Americas and along the sea front passing the beaches of the Costa Adeje and all the way to El Duque.
Nearby Siam Park is one of the best waterparks in Europe featuring exciting rides and relaxing beaches set in a spectacular Thai themed kingdom. Jungle Park an acclaimed wildlife centre and a second waterpark Aqualand are also close by.
Younger children will love Monkey Park which is located on the outskirts of Los Cristianos which is a breeding centre and leisure park. It has lots of small monkeys and big apes as well as reptiles and tropical birds.
