Beaches
You will be spoilt for choice in Playa de las Americas, there are 6 beaches to choose from.
El Camison is a golden sandy beach with breakwaters providing calm family friendly waters. The promenade has a range of restaurants, cafes and bars. The larger Playa las Vistas is set in a sweeping curved bay with wide golden sands. Two vast breakwaters ensure calm waters and there are plenty of oceanfront restaurants and bars. Playa de Guincho is popular with surfers and windsurfers. On the northern edge of Playa de las Americas, Troya Beach has plenty of golden sand, calm waters and a promenade with restaurants. El Puerito Beach is ideal if you are looking for peace and relaxation. This traditional fishing village has a small cove with clear waters which are ideal for snorkelling.
Shops, Restaurants and Bars
From fast food chains to internationally acclaimed restaurants you will find dining options to suit all tastes. The Safari Centre is a modern entertainment complex with top end restaurants and stylish bars. Designer shops including Armani and Hugo Boss can be found here too.
The best nightlife on Tenerife is concentrated around Playa de las Americas. There are three main areas for night clubs and bars: Veronicas, the Patch and the Starco Commercial Centre,
Things to Do
Watersports are a popular in this area the range is endless. Chose from jet skis, banana boats, sailing, kite boarding, parascending, water skiing and scuba diving. Dolphin and whale watching excursions run from the Marina. In addition there are also ferries to neighbouring islands.
For golfers enthusiasts, Golf las Americas is an 18 hole championship course with pretty lakes, streams and mountain scenery. There is also an opportunity for horse riding and go karting in the area.
On the edge of Playa de las Americas is Siam Park one of the best waterparks in Europe featuring thrilling rides and relaxing beaches set in a spectacular Thai kingdom. The acclaimed Jungle Park wildlife centre and a second waterpark Aqualand which is famous for its dolphin shows are also nearby
Teide National Park is around a 30 minute drive from Playa de las Americas. It is home to one of the world’s biggest volcanoes and Spain’s highest peak. A cable car takes visitors directly over a unique landscape of craters, volcanoes and lava rivers. The more energetic can hike to the summit.
