Playa Paraiso on Tenerife’s southwest costs is a laid back resort with a mix of shops, bars and restaurants. There are several hotels in the area including a selection of luxury all-inclusive resorts.
Playa de las Galgas is a small beach with golden sands and a sprinkling of palm trees. It is set back into a rocky cove and there are sun loungers and parasols for hire. There is also a popular saltwater lido, Lago Paraiso. This overlooks the bay which has large lagoon style pool, tropical waterfalls, sun terraces and a restaurant. Coste Adeje is a 10 minute drive south and has 2 Blue Flag standard beaches.
Shops, Restaurants and Bars
The main street in Playa Paraiso has a selection of supermarkets, beach shops and cafes. There are also two shopping centres in Playa Paraiso. Playa San Juan nearby has some excellent seafood restaurants and tapas bars.
Things to Do
The Ritz Carlton Abama Resort nearby has an impressive range of facilities including a beautiful spa, tennis centre and a Championship Golf Course overlooking the ocean. There is also an 18 hole golf course overlooking the ocean at Golf Costa Adeje
There are plenty of attractions for families within a short drive. About 15 minutes away in Playa de las Americas is Siam Park one of the best waterparks in Europe featuring exciting rides and relaxing beaches set in a spectacular Thai themed kingdom. Jungle Park an acclaimed wildlife centre and a second waterpark Aqualand which is famous for its dolphin shows are nearby.
Head inland from Playa Paraiso and you are soon at the Teide National Park where you can take a cable car to the top of Teide Volcano, Spain’s highest peak. This takes visitors directly over a unique landscape of craters, volcanoes and lava rivers.
