And for those with muscle atrophy, the seat allows for correct positioning of the body increasing stability. By forming a ramp at the front of cushion and channels for convenient thigh setting, you can create a bucket position. This encourages users to work harder on maintaining a proper torso position, while increasing stability and safety while sitting, preventing the body from slipping. Additional Details Composition The STABILO® seat is composed of synthetic rubber covered of a blue anti-allergenic jersey nylon cover that obtains the adequate water and airtightness to get the vacuum. Fine granules with a high friction capacity allowing the lightness and the malleability of the seat. The seat cover in neoprene is hyper deformable, ensures the waterproofing and the desired shape memory property. Functioning The pump creates an air vacuum by fixing the granules while letting them mobiles each other due to the weight and pressure effect: it offers unlimited possibilities of shapes and hardness for a particularly stable system. The granules avoid the pressures on the whole support seating surfaces. To change the shape of the seat, you just have to open the valve and to let enter the air in to get a new shape, then to recreate the vacuum to obtain the hardness or the desired softness. Rigidity and Durability The seat keeps its shape and its density several months following the user behavior: in effect, if the user is agitated or spastic, the change of positions and the spasms necessitate a bi-monthly adjustment. A temperature increase will tend to soften the seat, whereas the cold will rigidify it: this variation is always minimal and correctable with the vacuum pump. Washing The coating in jersey nylon is easy care: it is advised to wash it in a shower tray or a bath at 60° max. The use of chlorine or solvent is forbidden. Do not put it in the washing machine. Drying The drying can be achieved with paper towels or a hair dryer. It is possible to use the drier and not to exceed 60°. After drying, the product is immediately ready for use.
